Hot drinks For the winter

Coffee and its variants

Coffee is the favorite hot drink of the Belgian. During winter, a good hot coffee out of bed heats up in an instant and gives you enough energy to start the day. The coffee variations are also increasingly popular: espresso, ristretto, cappuccino or Irish Coffee. The latter is composed of a mixture of coffee, sugar and whiskey, topped with cream. The ideal drink to face the cold weather! You can also enhance your coffee by adding speculoos of spices, shredded coconut or chocolate sprinkles.

Hot Drink: guaranteed comfort

If you do not like coffee, there are many other hot drinks. Eg tea is delicious with a little honey. With its calming effect, it is ideal before bedtime. Warm milk with honey also promotes sleep and relieves sore throat. If you prefer something stronger, the Irish Tea will not disappoint! To prepare an Irish Tea, do the same way as Irish Coffee but replace coffee with tea. Finally, by mixing hot apple juice with cinnamon, you'll get an amazing and tasty blend.

Last but not least, the hot chocolate is a delight for young and old! Nothing like a great cup of hot chocolate after a walk in the snow. The real hot chocolate is prepared from cocoa powder. You can also melt chocolate and mix it with milk. True connoisseurs add cinnamon, vanilla, cream or marshmallow. Finally, a bit of Baileys in a cup of hot chocolate is a pure delight.

Mulled wine Christmas

If you have ever visited a Christmas market, you did not miss it: mulled wine is a must! Make mulled wine itself is not very difficult. Prepare the following ingredients:

1 bottle of red wine
1 lemon
1 orange
4 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
75 grams of sugar

Cut the citrus fruit into small cubes. Add the wine, cloves and sugar and heat the whole 10 minutes. Do not boil the preparation. Taste and add a whole cinnamon to taste. Strain the wine before serving it and drink it hot again. A real treat during the long winter evenings!
